Activities and events are an important part of life here at Norumbega Point. Our residents enjoy many ongoing activities, as well as special events and parties. Continuing in the grand tradition of the Totem Pole Ballroom and the rich history of the area, Norumbega Point's Totem Pole Room has featured Vaudeville entertainment, respected musicians, choral groups, plays, melodramas, slide lectures, movies, and first class entertainment professionals. Many of our residents were accustomed to having social parties at their homes. We continue that tradition here at Norumbega, with our "Happy Hours.* Twice a week Residents enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks in our Pub. Monthly we host a Birthday Social honoring all the birthdays in the month with live entertainment and refreshments. Tea Parties welcome new Residents, with wonderful pastries handmade by our chefs.

Weekly our gentlemen residents get together and meet at their "Men's Club." They discuss sports, past work experiences, war stories and many more topics. Our Book Club meets monthly to discuss our current reading, and to select future books. We have bingo games, Book Club, painting and clay-work classes, craft classes, Bridge club, scrabble tournaments, weekly poker games, computer tutorials, and crochet & knitting socials.

Transportation is a large part of resident life and here at Norumbega Point. We take bi-weekly trips to grocery stores and pharmacies, and monthly trips to restaurants and local theaters. The residents enjoy shopping trips to stores such as HomeGoods, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx and Target. On Saturdays residents have options for outings such as visiting one of our local malls, going out for breakfast, visiting museums, and going to the movie theater. During the springtime residents enjoy trips to local orchards and nurseries, as well as the Arnold Arboretum to enjoy their famous lilacs. In the summertime we take trips to have lunch by the ocean, and enjoy the scenery on river and harbor cruises. In the fall there is nothing better than a long ride through the beautiful New England fall foliage.

We host numerous intergenerational programs which residents can invite their families to. Our annual Halloween party is a big hit with our staff and residents' families, as well as our 4th of July party. In addition, we often have local naturalists present wildlife presentations. In the past some presentations we have had were presentations with domestic farm animals, "Birds of Prey" with Wingmasters, "Rainforest Reptiles" and "Caring Canines."
